Christmas Market in Ljubljana 2022

We are taking a small break from the Japan travel series to bring you a recent trip to Slovenia I made with the family. That's why I haven't been posting for the past week, but rest assured, that the Japan travel series will continue this week and conclude soon. I this post I want to share some images from the Christmas market in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Ljubljana is a 6 hour drive from Mostar, where I live, but the drive is truly worth it. The city is relatively small, with a picturesque old city center. That's where the main Christmas market is located. There are many little stands with treats dotted along the river Ljubljanica. The Christmas markets in Ljubljana are located in Preseren Square and along the Ljubljanica river. You can also find some festivities nearby in Congress Square (Kongresni Trg).

We did visit the city during the day as well, so here are a few images from Ljubljana during the day:

Shown above is Preseren Square which is the main centre square in Ljubljana, unmissable for the pink Franciscan Church which dominates the square. This is the location of Ljubljana’s main Christmas market.

Now I want to see what you have been up to. Link down below and share with the rest of us!

    1. That's a shame. They can be fun, but it's also nice when everything is decorated at least.

  11. That's what I miss here, the beautiful Christmas markets. So nice to accompany you with such great impressions.

In the photo with the pastries in the bag I was immediately thinking of our "churros". They look exactly the same.

A great city and thanks for taking us with you.

    Greetings

    Nova
