Autumn Rivers and Trips [Through My Lens Nr. 552]

Early autumn has settled gently over Mostar, bringing cooler mornings, softer light, and the kind of weather that makes me want to spend as much time outside as possible. I’ve been taking long walks through the city, camera in hand, capturing the Neretva as it flows beneath the bridges and through the heart of Mostar. The river seems especially beautiful at this time of year, shifting between deep blue and emerald green depending on the light, while the first hints of autumn slowly begin to appear along its banks. There is something peaceful about wandering familiar streets with no particular destination, noticing the small changes that come with the season and trying to preserve a little of them in photographs.

 

This week also brings a change of scenery, as I have a little trip planned and am looking forward to getting away for a few days and, of course, taking plenty of photos along the way. But there is another very special occasion waiting for me this Thursday: Beni’s 18th birthday! It feels almost impossible to say that he is turning eighteen. He has been part of so many chapters of my life, countless walks, trips, quiet mornings and ordinary days that became better simply because he was there. So alongside the excitement of travel and the beauty of early autumn, this week will also be about celebrating my little old gentleman and an incredible eighteen years with Beni.
