It is the first of December, and the days have been getting colder and colder, as winter is knocking on our doors. It's the time of the year when the lights go out fast, and long nights permeate the surroundings. In our neck of the woods, strong winds from the north are added to that, and they create the sounds of winter and tranquility.

There is something serene in these moments, like yesterday, when my cousins and I took a hike to the nearby located Fortress of the mid-century king Herceg Stjepan. I will post a three-part series about our adventure soon, but right now I wanted to take it all in. Winter can be snow filled, or bare and cold, but still, even in this season there is beauty to be discovered. Just because something is transforming it doesn't mean that it will ultimately turn out to be bad. And there is of course the promise of spring that winter brings with it.
This is my 500th post, and also 5 years of blogging. I like to look back at the older posts from time to time, and see not only how far I have come, but also what milestones happened along the way. If you like you can click on the sidebar and view the old posts from 2008, or simply click here.
Thank you all for visiting and commenting. I like the blogger friends I have discovered and I love visiting all your blogs and see how your lives are, go on and change. To another five years...
Congrats Mersad..... your 500 th post is really FANTASTIC.

Delete🇺🇸🇺🇸↑🇺🇸🇺🇸↑🇺🇸🇺🇸⬆︎ I lost my job few months back and there was no way to get income for my family, things was so tough and I couldn’t get anything for my children, not until a met a recommendation on a page writing how Mr Bernie Wilfred Doran helped a lady in getting a huge amount of profit every 6 working days on trading with his management on the cryptocurrency Market, to be honest I never believe it but I took the risk to take a loan, and I contacted him unbelievable and I was so happy I earned 15,500.00 within 7 days of investment , the most joy is that I can now take care of my family, i am just sharing my testimony. I don’t know how to appreciate your good work Mr. Bernie Doran God will continue to bless you for being a life saver I have no way to appreciate you than to tell people about your good services. This one is a great example!! Such a lovely, peaceful place! Thank you for sharing and I look forward to many more!!

DeleteMersad, I have a question about night photography. When you take pictures in the night do you use sometimes flash built in the camera. Or you turn it off?
ReplyDeleteI don't use the built in flash. In fact my 6D now doesn't even have a built in flash. I have an external flash, but i don't like to use it during night. What I would advise for night photography is a tripod and then go into Tv or complete Manual (M) mode. Try to focus on a light source to get a focus point and then disable auto-focus, then you can play with the settings and not have your lens automatically shift focus points.
DeleteYou can try it in auto-mode (P on a Canon) at first to get the feel of it.
Mersad, thank you very much for answering my question. It's very helpful.
DeleteThat is so great that you took your time and explained to me some techniques!
Very best wishes to you.
No problem Kaya. Best wishes.

DeleteCongratulations on your 500th post! I think winter is beautiful and I'm so glad someone else thinks so too. It saddens me when people see my winter photos and cannot see anything beyond the cold. They are missing so much beauty. I'm glad you aren't one of them.

ReplyDeleteA gorgeous view! Congrats on #500!
ReplyDeleteThis is breath-taking! What a lovely view, and the castle fortress is wonderful! I have to tell you how sorry I am I haven't visited before now. I was so happy you came by my blog via Kathy and was kind enough to comment. I have been more than a little frustrated lately (first the computer crash which took over three weeks to fix! Then company. And all the while trying to use a manual Nikon I am truly no good at using, and getting awful pictures!) Now with my new camera, things should improve. :-) I'm glad you hung in there with me. It may take a while to get used to the new camera, but my spirits are definitely soaring! :-) Glad to make your acquaintance! Will be checking your blog a lot.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marie. It's no problem at all. Glad to have you on board.
DeleteCongrats for your work, sharing with us
