Into the Fall Season [Through My Lens 208]

While fall can be melancholic, it is also heralded as a time of abundance. It is the season of harvest, of reaping all that we have sowed. In our own lives fall signals the perfect time to reflect and take stock. It is a time for letting go of what has been and of what we no longer need as we prepare for change. While this can indeed be a time for melancholia, it is also a wonderful time to practice non-attachment. We only feel sad to lose an object if we some way identified ourselves with it. This is the very nature of attachment. Fall presents is an opportunity to become aware of those attachments and to remember those things in our lives that are more deeply constituent of our core being. So take stock of the way in which we are all influenced by this shift in seasonal conditions. This is simultaneously a time of loss and abundance, and importantly, this is a common human experience which we all share.

Thank you all for joining me in another week of "Through My Lens". I am looking forward to your submissions this week. I hope you will have a good one!

  13. Fall must be amazing to see the colours and the dramatic change in landscape. We don't have this happen in Australia because our trees are evergreen. I love those flags on the the covered bridge. Have a great week and thank you again for the link up.
