Even though summer is still around, the fall season is slowly rearing its head in mountains. Our plum and apple trees at the mountain cottage are ripe and ready to be picked up. So this past week we did just that. Jasmina, Selma and I got together and started picking. We have 2 plum trees and 3 apple trees. Picking apples is actually not too hard, but the plums gave us a hard time. Some branches reached up so high in the sky that I couldn't reach them even with the big ladder. But in the end we got a couple of big crates of plums. They are so delicious. Most of these fruits will be shared and eaten, but I think some will end up in cakes, marmalade and smoothies.
Thank you all for joining me in another week of "Through My Lens". I am looking forward to your submissions this week. I hope you will have a good one!

ReplyDeletethose plums look so delicious. I love summer stone fruit. I usually get to bottle a few of our apricots each year. Enjoy your bounty! Do the apples keep through winter?
ReplyDeleteLate summer is a wonderful season for fresh fruit and vegetables ... we always used to do “U-Pick” at local orchards. Apples and all the kinds of stone-fruit too.
