Summer Delights [Through My Lens Nr. 294]

The heat is catching up with us. It has been unbearable this past week and the one that's coming up will be even hotter. I recently drove up to our mountain cottage to mow the lawns. I took some images from the surrounding mountains while at it. Nature here is so tranquil, but with life being so busy I can't even remember the last time we visited here. It has been maintenance most of the time (especially during the winter months). Back home I have been cooking a lot. I love Mutti canned tomatoes and tomato puree. It's so fresh tasting and somehow the tomatoes in it are more flavorful then other brands. It's Italian of course, so it has to be good. I made a really nice creamy tomato pasta. It's very interesting to see so few (but good) ingredients transformed into a delightful dish. Do you cook in the heat? Or is it mostly salads and quick dishes. Getting the kitchen hot seems like a chore right now.

Thank you all for joining me in another week of "Through My Lens". I am looking forward to your submissions this week. I hope you will have a good one!
