With the beginning of a New Year I like to revisit old places. This is the old town Trogir in Croatia. It’s a place where I have spent so many summers with family and friends, but during the winter season the place is deprived of people and crowds with the exception of the Christmas Market that is still open in January. The sights are cold and lonely, and it feels like you can sense the spirits of the past as you walk down the old cobblestones. Trogir is one of the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex not only in the Adriatic, but in all of Central Europe. Trogir is actually an island accesed by bridge. It’s main feature is the Kamerlengo Castle and the old town walls.

It looks like stepping back in time and walking where others have trod. Beautiful series of night images Mersad. Thanks for hosting, take care and have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteWe watched a recent movie "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" which was largely filmed in Croatia. So many wonderful places-- The movie was totally stupid, but fun at the same time. Your pictures were wonderful, Mersad. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place I love lights and night - and you captured this just perfectly!
ReplyDeleteYour night time photos are always so special. Mersad.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful place. It's a part of the world most of us have never seen. Thanks for sharing and hosting!
ReplyDeleteI have always liked your night photography, and these are no exception. This town looks ancient. People tend to spend more time outside in winter all over the world, but not that much in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteAmazing place, Great photography.
ReplyDeleteThe cruise ship was an interesting contrast to the old town.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great place. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
