Lunch with the Kids [Through My Lens Nr. 523]

The celebration for my sister’s birthday this year took us just outside Mostar, to the peaceful setting of Restoran Laks, where the first signs of spring were already everywhere. Willow trees were turning bright green, the sky was perfectly clear, and the kids immediately ran toward the playground while we enjoyed the calm atmosphere of the garden terrace. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, a perfect spot for a relaxed family lunch. As expected from a fish farm restaurant, the table quickly filled with freshly prepared trout, crispy schnitzel, fries, salads, and warm homemade bread. The boys were happily switching between the playground and the table while us adults enjoyed the food and sunshine. With good company, simple but delicious food, and the sound of nature around us, it turned into one of those easy, joyful afternoons that make family birthdays feel truly special.
