Weekend Escape [Part 3/3]: As The Night Rolls In

Our stroll in the countryside is coming to an end. It was dusk now, and only a couple of minutes  separated us from the nighttime. We made our way back to the car, ready to drive home. That's when I took these following images. Enjoy, and have a relaxing weekend ahead.

This is a multi-part series. Other parts include:
Part One: Arrival in the Mountains
Part Two: Fences in the Countryside
Part Three: As the night rolls in

Night is approaching and dark blues are taking over.

In a place like this, where there is no source of light on the ground, you can really feel the night.

A small window in the roof is open, reflecting the dark sky.

This is the road you have to take to get to the main road. There is a stone bridge in the middle of the shot.

A black and white version.

We sat for a while on our back porch, until eventually returning to Mostar.

The End

Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoyed our little outing.

  2. Mersad, this story worked well. You are getting very good at telling a quick story in a few pictures. Did you script this, I mean write the story before?
It doesn't matter but I think this along with the war damage posts is the best you have produced.

As a favour to an old man, ask your sister to leap into every shot. Tell her to ignore your moaning.

    1. Nothing is scripted. I just let things happen and try to be there to catch them through the lens. Then later on, when I edit the images. I try to come up with a nice way to present them in parts or standalone posts. I'm sure my sister will read this and I think that she already thinks I take to many photos of her :D

  3. I like number 6, the night time mountain view through all the green leaves.. and the last one indoors.. the mountains are just as pretty at dusk as in the daylight

BTW, is that a tiled siding on one side of your residence, where the window is, in the 7th picture?

    1. Yes it is. The roof goes down all the way to the ground on that side.

  11. Your family has such a beautiful place! I LOVE the shot of the dark clouds over the mountains! We always wanted to retire to the foothills of the Virginia mountains and have ended up farther afield due to our kids being here in the desert. We do have mountains very close here. I always love the mountain views!

    1. Mountains can be a very relaxing place. The offer up many untouched places to see and explore. Maybe that's why we yearn for them.

    2. I don't always get back to my comments to see if there is a reply. Glad I did today. I agree with you about mountains...I think they make us feel like we are part of a bigger, more glorious universe too, they are so majestic!

  15. I love that "blue hour" when the sun goes down but there is still enough light left that everything looks blue.
