A Summer on the island Rab [Through My Lens Nr. 303]

The island Rab was my big travel destination this year. It's located in the northern Adriatic Sea in Croatia. I visited the whole island, including the same named main town, Rab. The town of Rab sits on a narrow sliver of land protruding towards the mainland, bounded by ancient city walls and recognisable by four church towers that form the familir outline, depicting Rab as a ship with four masts. Further inland from the old town is a beautiful park called Komrcar, whose numerous paths wind around wooded hills all the way down to the beaches of Rab. Throughout its history, the island of Rab was under the direction of several Croatian rulers, the Venetians, Napoleon, the Habsburg monarchy and the Republic of Croatia. The island of Rab is rich in cultural heritage and cultural- historical monuments that make it a popular vacation destination. In the upcoming posts I hope to share more of this place with you.
