Summer's End in Lumbarda: In the Pine Forest [Through My Lens Nr. 357]

We continue our last summer story from Korcula in Croatia. In the previous part I showed you our day at the Vela Przina beach. This time we are going into the forest. At the east end of the island, there is a walking path through the forest that leads to a lighthouse on the cliffs. The walk through the forest is  really calming and relaxing. The pine forest the path goes through is very fragrant. It was very windy when we arrived at the east end of the island. The forest ends there and the barren rocks expose the elements. Mak and Beni enjoyed the walk, though Mak needed to be carried all the way since the path doesn't accommodate a stroller. The joys of traveling with babies :)

Thank you all for joining me in another week of "Through My Lens". I am looking forward to your submissions this week. I hope you will have a good one!

  1. I love walking through a forest for the peace and quiet it brings to you and I am sure you had the same experience Mersad. Thanks for hosting and I hope you have a great week ahead

  2. I could see that they are pines, but they don't have the triangular shape of most of our various pines--- which, by the way, don't grow as native plants on the wet side of Washington. They like dryer climates. We have lots of firs, cedars, hemlocks, spruce, etc. Lovely pictures, and I say again, Mak looks a lot like his Uncle Mersad!

  8. It really does not like a lovely place for a walk. Thankfully we have gone past the age of carrying toddlers. Enjoy your week, stay safe, and thankyou again for the linkup.

  9. Lumbarda is the first book in a trilogy written by Australian author Anna Smith Spark. The novel is about two young people who are living on their own in a world that has become completely unrecognizable. Lumbarda is a ghost town where there is no longer any electricity, running water, or cell phones. The two main characters, Olivia and Alek, find themselves trying to figure out how to survive in this new world that seems to have no rhyme or reason. free cdn for live streaming
