At the end of the Year

As the year comes to a close, it feels natural to pause and look back. This one was marked by change, uncertainty, and moments that asked more of us than we expected to give. Some chapters ended abruptly, others slowly unraveled, and many lessons arrived without warning. At times, it may have felt overwhelming, like the ground was shifting faster than we could find our footing. Yet, standing at the edge of a new year, there is also space for calm. Reflection has a way of softening what once felt sharp. With distance, we can see that even the most difficult changes carried something valuable with them. What challenged us also shaped us.

The end of the year invites us to breathe a little deeper, to reassure ourselves that we did the best we could with what we knew at the time. It reminds us that strength isn’t only about pushing forward, it’s also about knowing when to slow down, rest, and trust the process. As we step into the next year, may we carry forward not the weight of what was difficult, but the wisdom it gave us. May we move ahead with steadier hearts, open minds, and the belief that even after the hardest seasons, something new and wonderful can emerge.

  1. Interesting how you have captured the light on the trees. There is little to feel calm about here, Mersad.
