There is much to do and see in the old town of Mostar these days. As the tourists are slowly swarming the city, there is lots of activity in the evening and also during the day. I took a stroll last night and made these images, which I had to share. The evening was very pleasant, not to cold, not too warm. I also lucked out that we made our walk in the deep blue hour after sunset, which gave a really nice backdrop to the images.
Most of the stores still close a bit early, since the toursit season is not in full swing yet. The restaurants and bars however are open longer and there were lots of people enjoying dinner and wine here.
One of the many restaurants with a view. You can enjoy dinner here and have a look the the Old Bridge, lit up in the night by the reflectors.
Some artists and vendors are displaying souvenirs and their art on the cobblestone path that's leading towards the bridge.
The river Neretva, quietly flowing, resting after a long and busy day. The lights of the surrounding buildings are reflected in the surface and the heavy afterglow of the sunset can be seen in the distance.
In this rare moment, I took a shot of the bridge with almost no one on it. Usually people are standing here, looking down to the river and enjoying the views.
We sat down for some ice cream, before eventually getting some drinks in a nearby bar. There are also many great restaurants here, and I can refer you to my earlier post on things to do and see in the old town of Mostar, if you want to get a list of them.
The night had set in completely as we headed back home. The streets were almost empty, bars were still open though and our evening in the Old Town of Mostar came to an end.
I hope you enjoyed these and thanks for visiting! I hope you can make it here one day for a visit.
I always enjoy your dusk and night photography.

DeleteSuper shots--- and from the phone! Excellent picture of Jasmina (correct?), but then I've never seen a bad one of her. I like the shots with the Mosque tower.
ReplyDeleteWith results like that, why do we spend money on cameras!!
Well if you enlarge the shot you can see the difference between dslr and phone camera. And yes, it's Jasmina :D
DeleteExcellent photos! The ice-cream looks yummy. The setting to your stroll - ideal: good weather, not tourist-crowded. Your description of the evening , makes one wish to experience the same.

ReplyDeleteHvala za predivne slike mog rodnog grada Mostara.
Bravo masters.
Thank you for the beautiful pictures of my home town of Mostar.
Only downsides here was that I’m not sure if they were expecting such a crowd as they did not have nearly enough servers and sometimes it would take a really long time for service guy to come. But at the event space NYC tried to keep a smiles on their face.
