It's interesting to observe how things change around us. Some changes creep up on us, others we anticipate, but no matter which ones happen to us, change is inevitable. Over longer periods of time, changes can be earth shattering. Exploring places where time has taken a toll on buildings and structures is both exciting and melancholic. This fortress of King Herceg-Stjepan is a perfect example of it.

yes you aree right old building are sometimes a mystery and great to explore. Thanks for hosting and have a wondeful week ahead.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing to see how old buildings have stood the test of time. And for an Australian with no buildings older than 200 years, it is fascinating to see old buildings in Europe. They are great places to wander through. The castles in particular look rather gloomy drafty places! Have a fabulous week and thank you again for the link up.
ReplyDeleteYes, there is lots of history, sometimes sad, sometimes cheerful, but always captivating.
DeleteWhat an interesting and historic site to see. Wouldn't you like to take a trip back in time and see it is all its former glory?
ReplyDeleteI sure would. With some of these places I really wonder what they looked like back in the day.
DeleteGreat photos of interesting views! There is prosperity and declining in the structure’s history. When there is no human maintenance, nature takes over.

ReplyDeleteI love historical architecture. I always love to wonder at all the secrets their walls may contain. The stories they could tell if only they could talk. That last photo of the valley is stunning. Like a glimpse into another world.

My photos are nothing like what I see here but I am so happy to visit with you all
ReplyDeleteOld buildings and ruins are fascinating. They make me wonder what will be left after us.
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous photos, Mersad! I love seeing ruins. There is something so magical about them, drawing you back to the time of their strength and historic significance. There is a sadness, and an eerie beauty. Sorry I am not participating this week. I'll be back! :-)
ReplyDeleteAmazing fortress shots. So rich in history!
ReplyDeleteYour photos make me want to be there!
ReplyDeleteI love old ruins that ring of an interesting, if not exciting, past time. If only we could know what went on inside those walls. It amazes me that things were built that could last so very many years. What we build today, I fear, would fall to the huff and puff of the big bad wolf. Beautiful pictures, Mersad ...

It amazes me how such structures could be built with the technology of that era. - Margy

ReplyDeleteLieber Mersad - Der Wandel der Zeit beschäftigt mich auch im Moment ... und ich finde an alten Gemäuern ist dieser Zeitfaktor einfach unübersehbar. Zeitlose Grüsse, Petra
