It has been on the back burner for a while now, but I can finally talk about our next big road trip. My friends and I will be visiting the USA again this year. Last year we visited the Southwest USA, more specifically California, Nevada and Arizona. You can take a look back at our road trip from 2015 here.
This year the journey will take us to the east coast, namely New England and New York City. While I wanted to wait with this post when our departure comes, so that I could announce a break, I decided to go with it earlier so that I could show you my plans, and eventually get a few tips from my fellow US readers. (Thanks to Jack for already giving me some tips)
First of here is a map of the planned road trip. We will be there for 15 days from Oct 18th to Nov 1st.
This is where we'll spend the nights, and what places we plan to visit
Oct 18 - Danvers
Oct 19 - Portsmouth (places we plan to visit are Salem, Gloucester, Rockport, Essex, Ipswich, Newburyport and Portsmouth)
Oct 20 - North Conway (places we plan to visit are Portland Head Light, Portlanf and North Conway)
Oct 21 - Burlington (places we plan to visit Montpelier, Stowe and Burlington)
Oct 22 - Manchester (places we plan to visit are towns along Vermont Route 100, Woodstock, Manchester)
Oct 23 - Oct 27 - New York City
Oct 27 - Narragansett (places we plan to visit are New Haven, Mystic and Narragansett)
Oct 28 - Plymouth (places we plan to visit are Newport, Cliff Walk and Plymouth)
Oct 29 - Nov 1 - Boston (places we plan to visit Cambridge and Boston)
Again, like last year we will be renting a car and touring the country. I hope the weather will be nice and that we'll get to see some of the beautiful fall foliage this region is known for, even though we will be traveling past the peak. I'm also looking forward to the little towns and the countryside, as well as big city life in NYC and Boston.
So that's it for the update. If you have any tips for me let me know in the comments below. "Through My Lens" and some other posts will be scheduled and posted throughout the two weeks. I also hope to do some "On Location" posts from our trip while we are still there. Thank you all for stopping by.
Fantastic Mersad! I wish you fantastic trip and look forward to some awesome posts too :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Sid, hope to have some good ones when the trip is done :D
Deletelooks like another great trip is coming soon. can't wait to see what you see because I have never been to any of these places except NY city and that was when I was 8 years old, so only have a few memories. enjoy
ReplyDeleteHopefully I can refresh your memory on NYC soon and add some new things to the mix as well. Thanks Sandra!
DeleteGosh this is a trip to look forward to Mersad! I do remember your excellent coverage of your last trip to the US. If the next year goes as quickly as the one just past, you'll be off before you know it 😀
ReplyDeleteThank you. Last year everything went off without a problem, i hope it will be the same this year.
DeleteI would love to come to the states and roadtrip the whole country! I wish you amazing moments and great adventures on your trip and can't wait to read more about it once you are actually doing it! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I hope to return with many new stories and images.
DeleteMusste eine tolle Reise sein.
ReplyDeleteDein erstes Bild mit dem farbigen Laub und das letzte mit den Türmen sind wunderschön.
Liebe Grüße
I've never toured that part of the country myself, so I'll be eager to see it through your lens. Maybe fall will delay its arrival for you. Happy travels to your and your traveling companions!
ReplyDeleteI hope so Linda. Though I'm afraid the leaves wont be as bright and colorful as they can be. But I'm looking forward to it anyway.
DeleteIf you hit the fall colors it will be a fantastic trip! How lucky for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brooke. I hope so too.

ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful time to visit the east. We have a few maples along our lake that are just finishing their colours. But it's nothing like those. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a magnificent trip!
ReplyDeleteIf you can, visit Acadia National Park in Maine. I saw humpback whales for the first time there. And get some delicious Vermont maple syrup.
As you can see we wont have time to get to the Acadia National Park in Maine, but I will buy myself some of that delicious Vermont maple syrup for sure!
DeleteAwesome! You will have seen more of the USA than I have and I live here.
ReplyDeleteWell it will not be long before you all leave for what sounds like a wonderful trip and I lookforward to seeing the vountry through your lens
ReplyDeleteBon Voyage! I'm sure it will be a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! So you're in New England now? Such a beautiful time to visit! I'm in Bennington, VT and lived in Burlington for many years. Hit me up if you need any recommendations for places to stay (or to photograph)... I actually just wrote a little post about where to take photos in southern Vermont. I'm not expert at photography, but I do know a lot about Vermont:) http://backroadramblers.com/fall-photography-southern-vermont/
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your visit - can't wait to see your photos!
Not there yet. Going on Oct 18. Will look at your post before. Thanks for your comment.
DeleteHow wonderful, Mersad! You'll be going right by the little town where I grew up, 6 miles south of Danville, Vermont. I look forward to seeing the pictures from your trip!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a wonderful trip, Mersad! The autumn color might be past peak in New England but there will probably still be some color. When you are in NYC go to Central Park as the trees will be turning color there. Bethesda Fountain in the park is beautiful to see. I loved Portsmouth, NH and blogged about it. There are some beautiful lighthouses nearby. Check our my blog under the labels I have for Maine and New Hampshire. Of course I have a lot of blog posts about NYC--hope they will also be helpful to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pat. Already saw some of your posts on these places and loved them!
DeleteWhat a wonderful trip.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great trip!
ReplyDeleteI am excited about this trip for you! The perfect time of year to visit New England! Can't wait to try to catch up on your posts and see everything you did, and enjoy your amazing photos! I will be slowly taking a journey up through those recent posts! Some time in the future, do plan to visit Virginia!
