Spring arrives quietly in Mostar, almost as if the city exhales after winter. Along the emerald waters of the Neretva River, the first blossom trees begin to open, their pale pink and white petals catching the sunlight that reflects off the river’s surface. Walking by the riverbanks, you can feel the shift in the air: warmer, softer, carrying the scent of new growth. The stone of the old bridges and riverside paths warms under the sun, while branches above gently fill with blossoms that sway in the light breeze coming down the valley.
In these early days of spring, the Neretva becomes a mirror of color and movement. Petals occasionally drift down toward the water, floating briefly before being carried downstream past the old stone houses and gardens that line the river. Locals linger longer on their walks, pausing to watch the river or simply enjoy the quiet beauty of the blossoming trees. It’s a gentle reminder that in Mostar, spring doesn’t just arrive it unfolds slowly along the river, one blossom at a time.
