Golden Hour in the Mountains

The days are getting warmer here and escaping the hot city, seems a more welcoming idea with each passing day. The local mountain slopes are always a fun place to be in and I actually never visited them during the golden hour.

I recently made the trip back up to shoot some more stills for my upcoming time lapse video, and in between the various time lapse set-ups I made these images. I also made some portraits and city shots which I will post at a later time.

Have a great Sunday and enjoy these images, of a day going to sleep.

Thanks for stopping by. Is it warm where you live? If yes, how do you deal with it?

  2. these are all phenomenal .... at first I noticed only the mountains and sky, but the detail on the ground is fantastic... it is very hot here, 90 F each day but will be hotter in July/Aug/Sept.. the 3 months I dread.
we just stay in the AC as much as possible and spend lots of time in the pool if we are outside.

  18. Once more, we see the wonders of the golden hour. All are lovely. Personally, I like warm weather. If it isn't too bad, open windows bring a breeze inside. If it is really warm, that is the time for air conditioning.

    1. Unfortunately, quickly opening the windows to let a breeze inside, doesn't work in Mostar. I guess you have the advantage of living next to the sea! :)

  20. Peaceful and serene...gloriously arrayed by the setting sun! Love these wonderful images!

It has been 108 here for a week (Fahrenheit) and there is much more to come. We can get up to 115 or even 120 here in Tucson in the summer months. 115 would be fairly common, but 120 rare. Still it's HOT! I get annoyed with everyone who says "But it's a dry heat," like that makes it better than another part of the country where there is high humidity on a regular basis, and even 99 can be very uncomfortable. What these people never understand is that it isn't dry here in the summer....it's our monsoon season. And even when the humidity is down, it is like walking in an oven. I've lived where there's high humidity and even 106 temps, (TX) and were just as miserable. But I really HATE HEAT anywhere! We drink a lot of water, and don't leave the comfort of our air conditioners until late in the day (or early morning)....If we have to get out mid-day, we have air conditioning at least in our cars, and we complain a lot. :-) Our only comfort is that at least it will be better by October! :-)

    1. That's a huge temperature. Dry heat is still heat, no arguing there. Stay cooled Marie, and I hope the air condition will help you till October :)

  26. So stunningly beautiful. I loved them all. The one with the rock formation reminded me of a head of a cat. - We haven't hit the super heat yet here. That will come in July and August. A/C everywhere is how we survive.
