In the Heat of the Moment [Through My Lens Nr. 106]

The whole country has been hit by a huge heat wave. One that in my 17 years living in Mostar I have never experienced before. The temperatures keep rising up to 42 degree C (107 degree F) in the day (but are probably higher in the direct sunlight). That's what has been making blogging so tough lately. One one side I haven't been going out to shoot on the other I have to conserve energy and keep as cool as I can during the day. I hope summer is treating you better. We had a promise of some cool towards the middle of August. I am looking forward to that If it happens. Later this week I will be hitting the road again for a new travel series. Hopefully the heat of the moment will play along...

Thank you all for joining me in another week of "Through My Lens". I am looking forward to your submissions this week!

  6. Your photos are glowing!
I wouldn't mind some of your heat. We did get some last week along with heavy rain.
We usually have such nice hot summers, this is very unusual.

  8. We had heat waves early on this summer. Thankfully, we are in an unusual cool down. Nothing above 80 degrees F in the forecast for this week.

  9. It's been super hot here in Portland too - we hit 106 degrees last Thursday so almost as hot as your town. I'm looking forward to winter already!

  10. Wow, 107 would certainly limit photo shoot trips! We went from HOT HOT... to weather that almost feels like fall... fast change here, but much more comfortable. Thank you for hosting the party....

  12. What is happening to our weather. We've hardly had any summer and there you are in such heat. I've experienced those kind of temperatures when I lived in the Middle East and Australia and it's not pleasant.
Great photos in such conditions...hopefully it will cool down for your next photo shoot. Thanks for hosting once again :D

  14. It is hard to get out and do much when it is so terribly hot! Has been warmer than usual here in western Oregon USA too ... and I am afraid that is going to be our normal from now on. You got some beautiful pictures .... wonderful light! Thank you for hosting! I appreciate the dedication it takes to do this every week.

    1. Das ist ja dann gar nicht schön. Schwüles Wetter ist so unerträglich. Besonders wenn man unter der "Glocke" steckt.

  20. Beautiful photos as always. Some people here complain that our summer has been on the chilly side, but I have to say I much prefer that to a heat wave such as you have experienced in the south of Europe. For me, ours has been quite good enough :) (keeping just below or around 20° most of the time!)

  21. I do like it hot but, then again, I remember being in Europe and the Middle East when the temperatures were over 40. It's better when it's dry but it still drains the energy out of you. As far as summer goes, It's the wrong time of year down under. We had a mild heat rise today and it made it to 15 (but rainy and damp). I have an idea - I'll post you a box of some cold if you post me a box of some hot :)

  23. We are in the midst of a heat wave here as well, plus all the smoke from the fires in the British Columbia interior has been hanging around for over a week. Reminds me of Los Angeles smog when I was a kid. - Margy

  26. We had some of those high temps a few Summer's ago. I don't remember ever being in the 100's, but it happened. No fun. Glad you got a few photos though, and I'm sending some of our cooler Summer days your way. :)
