I was making pizza the other day and had some leftover dough in the fridge. I decided to make a Calzone for breakfast. I wanted a simple version, not to heavy and fatty. A Ham and Cheese Calzone is an easy freezable breakfast recipe! They will remind you of pizza and breakfast hot pockets all wrapped up in one tasty on the go breakfast! Roll out pizza dough and add you desired filling, wrap it up, bake and enjoy.
I filled mine with a mixture of 1 cup of shredded cheese, 1/2 cup ham (shredded or cubed), 1/4 cup pizza sauce, and 2 tbsp of mayonnaise. I combined all of the ingredients, and layed it out on one half of the rolled out dough. Then I folded the other half of the dough, and crimped the edges. I baked the Calzone in the oven for 20 minutes on 220°C (430°F).
Beni sensed the baking and made sure to check up on me and take a break from the sunbathing on the front porch. Let the Calzone cool down before you slice it up and eat it.
