Inisde the Old Town of Sibenik (Goodbye Summer)

Now it feels like summer is over. Kids are back to school, and the dreams of summer are beginning to fade. It was a hot summer and in some ways I'm glad it's over. I am also a bit melancholic for the carelessness of summer, though I am looking forward to fall which is my favorite season. During my recent visit to Sibenik, with my family, I also visited the old town of Sibenik. I was transported back in time to a place where history and charm converged in a truly captivating way. But also, back to my previous travels there.

Nestled along the stunning Adriatic coastline of Croatia, Sibenik's old town is a treasure trove of ancient architecture, narrow cobblestone streets, and an atmosphere steeped in centuries of maritime heritage. One of the highlights of my visit was the breathtaking St. James' Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a true masterpiece of Gothic and Renaissance architecture.

Exploring the winding alleyways, I stumbled upon charming cafes and boutique shops that lined the historic streets. The scent of fresh seafood wafted from quaint restaurants, tempting me to indulge in local delicacies.

It was a journey through time, both historic and my past, that left an indelible mark, reminding me of the magic that can be found in the most unexpected of places, and especially when you return to them.
