Holding on...

Winter is fast approaching. While the days here, have yet to see snow and winds, the still, freezing air is promising a harsh season to come. In these shots I took recently you can see nature trying to hold on to that last fruits of the season before spiraling into the long winter sleep

I took this first shot from an unusual perspective. I shoot the subject from below, looking up at the sky. Luckily the sun was covered by the clouds, and I didn't have a blown out sky.

How is winter treating you in your neck of the woods?

    1. The first shot was hard to pull off. Especially with the focus, because the berries are so small.

  8. Mersad, these are exceptional photographs! Red berries against blue sky are amazing. And a berry on the last picture is awesome.

Winter doesn't treat me nicely. It's freezing cold weather. I can't even go out to do night photography. Wait when it will be warmer.

  9. Love the red berries shot. It's been bitterly cold here. So cold that many of the waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge have begun to freeze. I spent the day Sunday photographing many of them. They were fantastic! I'll share images on my blog in a couple of weeks.

  11. Lovely images. :) Winter is very snowy here. Soon, though, we will head South for ten weeks at sea where it should be very warm and sunny. Well, there is always an occasional tropical shower, but those usually come with beautiful rainbows.

  17. Do the birds rush to eat the berries? We don't have snow yet but it is very, very cold so I guess it is on its way.
