I am posting this under Friday my Town Shoot Out, even though this isn't clearly my town or city. But as a child I grew up here, so it is a part of me, even today. These images were taken in the theme park called "Phantasialand" last year, during our visit to Cologne. Actually today marks exactly one year since we have been here. And even though I have posted about this place before in the Cologne Series (listed again below), there were a few images from here that I didn't publish back then.
So sit back, get yourself a cup of hot cocoa or tea, and enjoy the lights that marked not only a wonderful journey, but also a childhood.

Have a great weekend everybody!
This theme park in attracts
approximately 1.75 million visitors annually. The park was opened in
1967 and although starting as a family-oriented park, Phantasialand has
also added thrill rides, especially during recent years. Among the park's thrill rides is a themed
Mine Train roller coaster called Colorado Adventure, which runs among
some mountains in the park's Wild West section and was opened by Michael
Jackson.
Have a great weekend everybody!

your photos have a Christmas card look, picture perfect. I like the lights in the 6th shot the most, but that was very hard to decide. I have posted from many towns, my rule is wherever I happen to be on Friday becomes my town. Has worked for me. and Hometowns count as home / my town. I feel sorry for our spotlighter this week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting, and thanks for the compliment. The surroundings here are so beautiful that it's hard not to get a good shot.
DeleteI was thinking the same thing as Ginger. These photos would make great Christmas cards. Excellent job on showcasing the beauty of this place.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I wish I had my Canon 6D back then, the images would have been even better.
Deletebeautiful night-time lights!
ReplyDeleteAll colours in the night shots are great but I really love the bright colours during the day on the top shot. It's such a beautiful image.
ReplyDeleteYes, that one has a special feel to it too.
DeleteSheer Magic! each photo is sheer magic... I went through the slide show 3 times... fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sandra.
DeleteWow, it is a winter wonderland. Love those night shots.
ReplyDeleteA winter wonderland indeed.
DeleteThat place is well named! What a wonderful place to visit just before Chirstmas! No way could I pick a favourite.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
DeleteAlmost every picture can be easily a beautiful Christmas post card, Mersad! Every picture has its magic!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo works, Mersad!!!!
Thank you Kaya.
DeleteWow! What a gorgeous place! I love the lights and all the vibrant colors!
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian.
DeleteI'm not sure whether you see beautiful places or you make places beautiful. These are so, so pretty. that first one, especially, is crystal clear. My first thought was how crisp the photo was. My second thought was what a pretty jigsaw puzzle it would make. :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's a combo of both of those things. Thanks so much. I did use my sharpening method for a crisp look.
DeleteAwesome photos. I really liked all the colors, and the night shots!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much.
DeleteI can see I shall have to increase my portfolio! You are all such great photographers. I especially like the first one, but the second one is so unusual. You have to see like a photographer to take faces with deliberate shadows like that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment. It's appreciated.
DeleteWonderful pictures with lovely warm colors..... they are very good Mersad.
ReplyDeleteWish you and your friends a nice weekend
Greetings, Joop
Thanks Joop.
Deletewhat a spectacular, mersad!
ReplyDeletethese are all fabulous! my fave is that first one.
have a great weekend~
Glad you like it!
DeleteI would once have loved skating there.... I can imagine the thrill of open air skating with all those lights around me. I almost went to one of the German markets, and I think it was in Cologne, but things happened to prevent the trip. Loved all these very scenic photographs, Mersad.
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame. Cologne is amazing.
DeleteGorgeous! Your images are always so incredibly wonderful. Thank you for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting.
DeleteAll are really great pics, I love the night ones the best.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI'm intrigued by the 4th picture although I can't make out what it's supposed to be. Does Phantasialand somehow refer to Die Unendliche Geschichte, by the way? - I also really like the 12th picture, with the street. Tablecloths on tables outdoors in winter strikes me as unusual, don't think I've seen that here!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it does, but then again, I'm not 100% sure where the name comes from. Phantasialand means "Land of Fantasy".
DeleteI'm feeling sorry for our spotlighter too, this week, since it is me. Love them all. No doubt about it you have been many places and seen many things. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Peggy. I'm sure you'll choose great ones again.
DeleteWhat a magical place! Colorful and mysterious. :)
