Spring Day in Blagaj

Spring is here. As the trees start to green-up and nature starts to waken, so are prominent places of interesting in the region starting to fill up with visitors. This past weekend I went to Blagaj with my friends. We went for a afternoon visit and the place was filled up with tourists and locals. Nevertheless we enjoyed our spring day there, and I want to show you the sights we saw.

Traditional Bosnian coffee is served here in the restaurants. It's a strong brewed type of coffee and very delicious. I have shown you Blagaj a lot of times on this blog, but I think It's nice to revisit this place once in a while.

The fresh water as a much needed contrast to the heat of the day. As I said, a lot of tourists are already flocking to these corners of the country. In the background of the little waterfall you can see the cave from which the river Buna emerges.

The restaurants to the left and right side of the river have a great view of the surrounding nature. You can stop for a drink or meal and enjoy the sights.

A walk back to the parking lot gave me an opportunity to photograph some sights from Blagaj I haven't before. This little house that is nestled between the river and some nice greenery caught my attention.

Back at the parking lot I looked above at the Herceg-Stjepan fortress

I hope you have enjoyed our stay in Blagaj. Has the spring season arrived in your corner of the world?

  2. I love these images. I love how the green on the trees wraps the stone building. This is the sort of place I want to visit.

My favorite of the set of images is the fourth one down from the top. I like the leading lines created by the river and the building and how it leads my eyes up to the water and up through the small waterfall to the rock face.
