The first two shots above show the Prenj mountain range. Survival here is hard, since the slopes lead into deep woods and when winter rolls around everything here is cut of from the rest of the world. A different fate befalls visitors in the Rujiste mountain. Here the roads are mostly cleaned and you can visit the ski center and have a walk in the woods. The images below are from Rujiste.
The woods are deep in these regions and do seemingly go on forever. Of course they go mostly up hill, so it's hard to get lost in them. I love taking a peek inside and trying to find low angles to shoot from or even subjects that are interesting to me, like the tree in the next shot.
Eventually you can escape the woods and enjoy winter in the open space. Snow does cover these mountains, and while we had some at the beginning of the year, we are still waiting for a good second sprinkling. In any case, nature will always be ready to surprise you and offer up great sights.
I hope you enjoyed this excursion into and out of the woods.
Very nice shots! I wish you a good and beautiful year 2016 dotted with happiness and joy in creation!
ReplyDeleteBises Cath.
Thanks Cath for visiting. Glad you liked the photos.
DeleteWonderful images of winter, Mersad!
ReplyDeleteYes Mersad, i enjoyed every bit of it. What i appreciate with the woods in temperate countries is that the undersides are so clear, unlike what we have in the tropics. However, there is a bit of boring sameness because wide spaces have the same vegetation as far as your eyes can see.
ReplyDeletefantastic sceneries Mersad... your photo's always make me want to pack my bags and leave for a trip
ReplyDeleteHave a nice abc-day / week
