It's time to leave the mountains and return home. But before we do it's time to eat something after all that hiking.
This is a multi-part series. Other parts include:
Part One: The Journey into the Valley
Part Two: Still life in the Valley
Part Three: Return through the Forest
Part Four: Lunch and the drive Home

In this first image you can see end of the ski path. On the left side (not shows here) is the ski lift, that takes you to the top of the mountain.
But we were more interested for the ski center and restaurant called "Snow House".
The inside was still decorated from the recent New Years Eve celebration that was being held here. The interior is very rustic.
After we were finished with lunch, the day was already making place for the night, and the thick cloud bank engulfed the mountains.
This is the view of the valley from the other side. You can see the river Neretva flowing through the city, and Mostar in the distance.
the first valley shot is my favourite. Wonderfully atmospheric
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's a bit bare without snow.
DeleteIt must be difficult to leave such a pleasant and beautiful spot!
ReplyDeleteIt really was. We had a great time. But since it's not far from our city, we can always return.
Deletesuch a beautiful hike this was!! amazing pictures!! have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Tanya.
DeleteWhat a beautiful way to end your sojourn. I also love that Snow House restaurant, which reminded me of the lodges in Norway! Happy Friday:)
ReplyDeleteThere is a certain similarity, Maybe it was designed intentionally that way.
DeleteAnother stellar set of images, Mersad! I really like the interior of the "Snow House" - very nice. Your valley shots are lovely too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mona.
Deleteall that ambiance inside is beautiful and a place i would love to see, the food looks good to. i love that fire place and the night time shot of the inside with the lights.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra. The food was delicious, but nothing special. Simple meal I'd say.
DeleteWhat a cute little restaurant! Too bad the ski area doesn't have any snow. Our mountains are finally getting some.
ReplyDeleteI think the owners of the Ski Resort share your sentiment, and are also hoping for some snow.
Deletelove the skies.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I love them too.
Deletebeautiful! i especially like that first valley shot and the portrait! truly awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you Betty.
DeleteThe valley shots are my favorites plus the top of the mountain with the clouds.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ruth.
DeleteThose mountain photos are really special!
ReplyDeleteYou would think that there would be more snow on those mountains. Ours are covered.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had any real snowfalls this winter...yet!
Deletewonderful the views of the valley, love the blue-ish colour. evenso I like the rustic interior of the restaurant, it's so peaceful.
ReplyDeletegreets, Hilde
Thanks Hilde.
DeleteGreat views! I enjoyed the photos of inside the lodge, especially the fire and the decorated windows looking out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
DeleteThe Snow House looks like a great place. Love the views too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Randy.
DeleteYou really captured the essence of the lodge. It looks beautiful and homey.
ReplyDeleteIt was very cozy and warm. Especially after a couple of hours hiking.
DeleteWhat a beautiful place! The food looks delicious! Your mountains are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThey surprised me too. I haven't been here in a long time.
Nova
Der Schnee fehlt. Da gebe ich dir recht.
DeleteI too like the interior of the Snow House. So welcoming. I have to say I always feel a sense of peace when I look at your scenic photographs.
ReplyDeleteThanks Valerie. So glad they give you calm.
DeleteThe massiveness and warmth of stone and wood is the perfect type of architecture. Love the place where you ate. The food looks good too! :-) You both look like you had a wonderful day! More gorgeous photos, too, of the valley in the dusk. Love them!
ReplyDeleteThank you. The dusk photos are dear to me, since they are so different. And I only could have taken them with the new camera, otherwise they wouldn't have turned out at all.
DeleteLove the inside of that rustic restaurant. All great photos. Like the last one best.
ReplyDeleteThanks Peggy.

ReplyDeletesorry I didn't like the sound of my comment when I re-read it. I went back through this series of photos. like all the vistas but that old tree - loved the old tree. I grabbed it for my 'winter' folder.
