Simple Things That Bring Joy [Weekend Post]

Life is filled with moments that you will remember forever, from births and weddings to travels around the world. But everyday life is not filled with them, it's the simple things that occur day in and day out. And there are so many simple things that can and should give us so much joy.

Here are just a couple of them, I noticed last night when I was sitting outside in the garden.

Summer in Herzegovina is the time when grapes ripen, and are in abundance. I love both the red and white ones, and it gives me joy, seeing them displayed in a big bowl.

There is of course Beni, with his look up at the camera.

A hot chocolate, after a long day of work.

Summers in Herzegovina are also very hot, so the flowers have to be watered every day.

And it brings joy seeing the fruit ripen in our small orchard.

Then there is the joy of a simple summer dinner, enjoyed over candlelight outside in the garden. Come back on Sunday for a recipe on this easy and delicious Tuna Salad (filled with lots of good things, and two versions of coating: one mayonnaise based and the other a fat free dressing!)

What simple things bring you joy?

  6. i like the hot chocolate photo best of all, and Beni's sweet face is sweeter than chocolate.. i love all simple things... looking up through the pine boughs at the blue and white sky.. the two dogs sleeping on the sofa right now, they make my heart warm just watching them sleep...and remembering things my hubby and I have done, not vacations, but silly things we never forget. years ago, we were taking an evening walk. the stars wer brilliant and i said "look at the little dipper" and pointed and smacked him right in the nose.... we still laugh every time we see the little dipper...

  19. Those grapes look so yummy. I've been eating red grapes this week (they were on sale) and they are so juicy. I liked your little moments. Those are the best kind. The Tuna Salad looked pretty tasty too.

  24. Watching the birds bath in the artificial stream running into my pond.Watching the weather come and go across the sea and the skies from my kitchen window. Seeing plants and flowers in my garden survive the salt-laden wind. So many things. Your words have reminded me that I haven't written a Thankful Thursday post for ages.
